Assassin’s Creed IV Has Been Announced!

Despite the fact that Assassin’s Creed 3 still has quite a bit of DLC left to release, it was confirmed yesterday that there will be an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Though no other information has been released, from what we can infer from the box art and title it’d be safe to say that ACIV will involve pirates. And I’m not going to lie, that sounds pretty awesome.

My guess is that ACIV will have you sailing the high seas quite a bit, judging by the fact that ocean combat made an appearance in last year’s ACIII. You’ll make your way from port to port, I’m guessing, picking off your targets and sailing away before anybody else notices. And that wouldn’t be a bad thing, because after all, who doesn’t want to be a pirate?

So far the game has been confirmed for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U. There’s no word yet if the PS4 and Microsoft’s next console will be getting the game. With that being said, though, I wouldn’t be too surprised to hear that ACIV will be coming out for those systems sometime after Microsoft announces their next Xbox.
