Respawn Entertainment Claims ‘Titan’ Trademark

While Jason West may no longer be with Respawn Entertainment, his partner from their Infinity Ward days Vince Zampella is hard at work creating their first game in the new studio. And while there hasn’t exactly been much information released about Respawn Entertainment’s first game we may have a clue about its title. It turns out that the studio has went out trademarked the word “Titan” for use in video games.

Besides this word and possible title there’s not a whole lot that we now about their game. What we do know is that their game is going to be an original IP that will be appearing on multiple platforms. The game is being published by EA, arguably the arch rivals of Activision, Zampella and West’s former bosses.

There is something interesting about using the name “Titan” in regard to Activision. Over the years Blizzard has been rumored to be working on a new MMO that is codenamed “Titan”, so one has to wonder if Respawn Entertainment didn’t just trademarked as a sort of “f-u” to Activision. I suppose we just have to wait until E3, however, to find out some actual concrete details on their new game.
