Many folks who had planned on picking up a Wii U at launch were disappointed to hear that Rayman Legends was no longer going to be a launch title. Originally pushed back to February, it was then announced that the game would be pushed back again to September, not because it was having that many problems in development, but rather because it was now being released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. Now it looks like Rayman Legends is showing up for yet another console.
It’s not the PS4 or the Xbox One that is getting the game, but rather it’s the PS Vita! That’s right, the Vita, which has had some problems in getting games for it will be getting Rayman Legends on September 3rd. Rayman Legends will be released for the other consoles on that date as well.
To sweeten the pot a little bit the Vita version of the game is including 5 exclusive maps where you’ll be able to control Murphy, the fly, as well as Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell costumes as well. The game will feature co-op as well, where one player uses the sticks to move while another is utilizing their touch screen. At this time there’s no mention about the Vita version of Rayman Legends working with the PS3 version, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see the PS3 version work in the same way that the Wii U version works with its game pad.
