Ellen Page Isn’t Thrilled With The Last Of Us

This past weekend I convinced an associate of mine to let me borrow his PS3 and go in with me to purchase The Last of Us, and I have to say that I don’t regret it for a minute. Though I’m not exactly far into the game I have found that overall I enjoy the combat (especially after getting the shotgun and bow and arrow set) and that Ashley Johnson is absolutely fantastic as the foul-mouthed 14 year old Ellie. However, there is one person who isn’t too thrilled with that character: Ellen Page.

On a Reddit AMA Ms. Page was asked if she would have taken up the Ellie role if she had been approached, to which she had this to say: “I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness, but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond Two Souls, so it was not appreciated.” Well, isn’t that a little awkward?

I guess you can’t blame her for being a little miffed at the game for having a character that looks a bit like her, especially since there’s that Beyond Two Souls game that she’s in that’s set to be released this year as well. In fact, the character Ellie looked so much like Ellen Page originally that Naughty Dog had to go and redesign her a little bit in order to make her look less like her. I have a feeling, though, that had “Ellie” been called something else, like, say, “Steve”, then maybe this wouldn’t have been as big of a problem.
