PSN To Undergo Maintenance Today

If you’re looking to buy some games on the PlayStation Store today, you might want to think again. Sony has announced that the PlayStation Network will be down for maintenance later today from 12:30 PM ET to 7 PM ET. That’s a good 6 and a half hours of downtime there, folks, right in the middle of the day.

During the downtime you won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, Home, or Account Management pages. However, if you log in before the start of the maintenance you will be able to access online play as well as your apps as well. If you don’t log in, you’re out of luck!

Sony hasn’t given a reason for the long period of maintenance. Of course, given last week’s issues with the latest PS3 firmware patch, it wouldn’t be surprising to see that Sony is making sure that the PSN is working fine before they unleash their updated firmware patch.
