Ubisoft Warns Gamers To Change Their Ubisoft Passwords

Every month there always seems to be another report of a company’s infrastructure getting hacked into, and sadly this month is not any different. Ubisoft has made the announcement that they’ve discovered that their systems have been compromised recently, and that some data has been accessed. The data accessed includes usernames, email addresses, and encrypted passwords.

Ubisoft isn’t giving any major details about how exactly it was compromised, though they did say that someone exploited one of their websites. The company has also revealed that it appears that no personal information was accessed, including phone numbers or addresses. Personal payment information wasn’t accessed either, because Ubisoft does not store that information themselves.

Because of the intrusion, Ubisoft is mandating that everybody with an account through them has to change their password. If you have a uPlay account and need to change your password, you can do it here. It’s a quick process, so there’s no real reason why you should wait to change your password now.
