Last week Ubisoft made the unfortunate announcement that Watch Dogs, one of their most anticipated games of the year, was going to be delayed until next spring. For many folks, myself included, there was a ton of disappointment at the news. For others though came a sense of dread, as they had pre-ordered the PS4 Watch Dogs bundle, and now had no idea what was going to happen to it.
Luckily for those folks who ordered through Amazon, they’re still going to get their console when it is released. A user on Reddit, pc-plod, said that he received an email from UK Amazon that told him he could go ahead and change his pre-order to a different bundle or to just the console. If by October 23rd no choice was made, then the order for theWatch Dogs bundle was going to be changed to a PS4 launch system.
That’s certainly some great news that folks won’t be unnecessarily penalized just because their game is being released 5-6 months later. At this time there hasn’t been any word about the US Amazon doing anything similar, though I don’t see why they wouldn’t have a similar system in place for American and other countries’ pre-orders. At least it isn’t like Target: they’re apparently just cancelling the orders, and reopening up the console pre-orders on October 25th on a first-come first-served basis.
