With only a couple of weeks to go until the release of Sony’s newest console, the PlayStation 4, many folks still had some questions about about it. Will you be able to upload game footage to Youtube directly? What are the limitations of the PS Vita’s Remote Play? And can I rename my Online ID?
Well folks, Sony now has answers. Wednesday afternoon the company rolled out their comprehensive FAQ about everything you could want to know about the PS4. To answer those first 3 questions I posed, no, direct uploads to Youtube are not possible but may be in the future, Sony recommends you use the Vita’s Remote Play feature only on your local network, and they highly recommend you have the Vita plugged directly into the router, and they won’t offer you the chance to rename your Online ID, though you can use your real name if you so choose.
The FAQ also revealed that the PS4 will not have any support for media servers. To many folks this comes as a bit of a shock, as both the PS3 and Xbox 360 had support but it now appears that Sony is instead pushing its Music and Video Unlimited services. Don’t worry though, the PS4 will still support Netflix and other services like that, with no PS+ subscription required. To read the rest of the FAQ, you can check it out here.
