No Typewriters In Resident Evil 5

There are a couple of things that you can expect when you sit down to play one of the many Resident Evil games. First, you’re going to be throwing down against some zombies. Something else you’ll always see are those old busted-looking typewriters that allow you to save your game. Well one of these is getting tossed out in Resident Evil 5, can you guess which?

Well, a Resident Evil game without zombies would be like Star Wars without Jedi, so I think we’re safe there. However, they’ve decided to ditch the old typewriter save system in favor of “a combination of checkpoints and chapters.”

I’m not really sure how I feel on this one. On one hand, I hate to see something as familiar as the typewriters getting tossed out, and it did add an element of strategy to when you saved the game. On the other hand, I’ll be glad to not worry about having enough ribbons, or trying to find a place to save when I’ve got somewhere to be.
