Anvil Gate – Gears of War Novel Explains The Story Before Gears 3
Anyone who owns an Xbox 360 will recognize the title Gears of War, as the game is practically a household name by now. Fans of the title demanded to go more in-depth with the story behind the game, thus spawning the two previous novels preceding this one.
Anvil Gate tells the story of what transpires between the second and third games. Aspho Fields was the first book in the series shortly followed by Jacinto’s Remnant about a year later. All three books have been penned by the New York Time’s Best-Selling Author Karen Traviss (Holy crap, chicks dig games too!).
The third book in the series will hit shelves in paperback on August 31st for the price of $16, depicting how the human race has struggled on since the tragic events that took place on Jacinto. Before too long the Lambent reveal their existence and the remaining Gears are forced to team up with prate gangs to take on the new threat to the planet. Marcus Fenix and the Gears strap up again and take the life of the planet into their own hands to defend their loved ones and their home.
“Anvil Gate is part of the fast-moving storyline between the second and third Gears games, so it’s essential reading for any fan who wants to fully understand the events of Gears of War 3 – the final game of the trilogy, also written by Karen,” Epic Games Executive Producer Rod Fergusson stated.
This will definitely be a keepsake to have for all of the fans of the Gears of War series, and will help with the “tiding over” jitters until the third game’s release in 2011.
