Nintindo Releasing Mario Collection For The Wii in October

Nintendo let just a bit of information out at the Nintendo Conference in Japan, from which we have great news. A translated version of a Game Jouhou report tells us that Nintendo of Japan plans to release a currently unannounced game called “Super Mario Collection Special Pack” for the Wii this Fall.

According to to the translated information, Super Mario Collection is a re-birthing of Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES. Now we aren’t too sure if that means just a port of the game, or a complete revival and upgrading or not. The game is set to be priced at around 2,500 yen (roughly about $30), so there isn’t much cause to think it will be an extensive remake. The “special Pack” name reportedly refers to a book that is included with the game showing over twenty-five years of Mario game development, along with the soundtrack CD featuring music from the entire Mario series.

Nintendo apparently has scheduled this release for October 21st, which means that official information should be surfacing very soon.
