“Project Sword” Comes To iOS, Looks Great

It looks like gaming is really expanding into the mobile area at a fast pace. With the iPhone on the market along with the iPad, the possibilities are endless.

At Apple’s live event yesterday, Epic Games president Mike Capps took center stage to announce a game he calls “Project Sword” (which is a codename), a game powered by the Unreal 3 engine for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad due out later this year. The game is based in a medieval setting, and it mainly focuses on 1-on-1 battles. Simply put, the game looks amazing.

Project Sword is being developed currently by the people responsible for the Xbox Live Arcade his Shadow Complex, Chair Entertainment. It will support multiplayer and achievements via Apple’s Game Center infrastructure.Like I have stated before, I am not really a “mobile” gamer. But it’s games like these that are turning me out of that mentality. This game looks pretty rad.

A playable demo of the game is now available on iTunes for the aforementioned devices. Check the demo out here.
