Borderlands Level Cap-Raising Update In A Couple Weeks

According to the Gearbox Software’s forums, they have posted an update that addresses the lack of the latest Borderlands patch. Title Update 1.41 was supposed to hit close to October 12th with the launch of the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition, but it didn’t show. Now Gearbox says that the update should “arrive within a couple of weeks”.

“The Title Update is finished and in the process of being reviewed for launch. We are almost green lit across the board for this free update to be launched, but we still need just one more light to turn green,” wrote Gearbox Marketing Coordinator Adam Fletcher. “In other words – we’re *almost* there! We expect that last light to turn green within a couple of weeks, possibly sooner. Once this happens, the Title Update will be made immediately available for all platforms.”

The new patch will set the level cap up to 58 for all players, and up to 69 for those who have The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. The frustration among players has definitely been that pesky level cap, especially for those who have already hit the roof and they don’t want any EXP that is earned in Claptrap’s Robot Revolution to go to waste.

Gearbox didn’t provide any details behind the delay, but the talk of hitting the “last green light” reminds me of Uber Entertainment’s issues with the Monday Night Combat update hitting a “perfect storm” and having difficulty with Microsoft’s certification process. It looks like we will have to sit tight for just a bit longer on this one.
