Final Fantasy Versus XIII Job Posting Causes Speculation?

If you’ve been following the Final Fantasy XIII news, you know that the game is one in a series of three that will release. The second in the trilogy, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, has been intended to be a PS3 exclusive, just as the original was planned to be. However, a job posting by Square Enix has caused a lot of speculation in the industry lately, and it is leading some to believe that Versus will follow the same path that the first XIII did.

The game’s designer, Tetsuya Nomura, has repeatedly stated that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be a PS3 exclusive title. Previously, though, it was announced that Square is looking into creating a “multi platform Final Fantasy Versus XIII release”. Undoubtedly, this is causing much confusion.

Just yesterday, Square Enix posted a job listing for a Final Fantasy Versus XIII “Battle Planner”.The job listing states that the following requirements are needed: experience developing a 3D action game, knowledge and experience in both level and battle design and “development experience on a PS3, or Xbox 360 package title”.

With the whole “Xbox 360” name inclusion in the posting, a lot of people are thinking that this is confirming that the title will be a multi-platform release. Of course, this could just be that someone would need to have knowledge with either system, and not necessarily that they planned on releasing the game for the 360, but of course it’s all speculation.

What do you think?
