Final Fantasy XIV Trial Period Gets Extended

Final Fantasy XIV has been met with weak reviews since its release at the end of September. The game is Square Enix’s second attempt at the MMO genre of gaming, which hasn’t been the strongest attempt by the mega-hit company. Because of this, Square has decided to extend the game’s free trial period to suit avid gamers.

A statement on the game’s official site read:

“Since the official launch of service on September 30, 2010, we have received a wealth of constructive feedback from the Final Fantasy XIV community, and the development and management teams would like to take this opportunity to express their sincerest gratitude. Considering the nature of much of the feedback we received, however, and the current state of the game, we have decided to extend the free trial period for all users.”

Will this help the game get better reviews? Will this make the fans happy? Well, we don’t know, but we will be sure to check back in and update accordingly. What do you think?
