PS3 Firmware 3.60 Update Re-secures Console

The latest firmware update for the PS3 is supposed to merely bring cloud saves to the console, but according to a report, it also re-secures the console from being jailbroken.

A hacker by the name of Youness Alaoui reported via his Twitter that, “For now, it looks to me (at first glance) that the PS3 has been re-secured, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be broken again from scratch.”

I suppose we will have to wait for a bit and see what the firmware really can do for the console, besides allowing for cloud saves of games.

What do you think? Will the firmware just be another speedbump in the road for hackers? Or will it stop the hacking all together?
