Lara Croft Stays Gritty and Battered In The Tomb Raider Reboot

The creators of the new Tomb Raider reboot have been working at slowly stripping Lara Croft away from her voluptuous, sensual self to put in place a more damaged and hardened young woman in her place. The upcoming reboot features a Lara that we’re not so much used to – one that is bloodier and dirtier than ever before.

Simply called “Tomb Raider,” the game has been the highlight of several magazines this month, thus spawning the cover art of Lara bandaging herself up which you can see below. Also in the cover art we get to see some new gear that’s a part of her new arsenal – the bow and the climbing hook. Of course the preview that has surfaced in the PlayStation Official Magazine sheds more light on the increasing changes that we will see with the new reboot, such as new puzzles, platforming, and the new sense of survival it will bring to the series.

I have to say that I am liking the direction in which Crystal Dynamics is taking Ms. Croft this time around. I think a young woman like her can better relate to the real-world setting that the developers are putting her in. Also, her new look fits the sort of lifestyle Lara comes to lead. She is still sexy in her own way, but this time her look is more focused on an athletic type of living. What do you think?
