The Director of Batman: Arkham City, Sefton Hill, stated in an interview with British newspaper The Guardian that the game will will include at least 40 hours of content, with side missions contributing to about 15 hours themselves. Of course the side missions can be completed at any time during the time span of the original story.
A couple of months ago Dax Ginn, the Marketing Manager for Rocksteady was stated saying that the game’s main story could be completed in as little as eight total hours. I would hope that this new number is more on the mark, as I know we all can’t get enough of the Batman. The new 40-hour time stamp seems like it would be more fun and open, which is what I think a lot of fans are looking for. Eight hours total in an entire city? Come on, Rocksteady.
Hill also said in the interview that, “It’s completely down to the player when and how they want to tackle this – there’s no right or wrong time.” Having a new Batman title with 25 hours of single-player storyline, and 15 hours worth of side missions, I think we can expect Arkham City to be one of the big releases when it hits shelves in October. Of course, the length of time to complete the game falls on the player, and their ability to master the characters, gameplay elements, and tools given to them in the game. What do you think about Arkham City, based on the information given so far?
