GameStop Offering $100 Off PS3 Purchases

If you happen to be a member of GameStop’s Power Up Rewards program, then you’re in for a treat. Just as IGN explains, GameStop is offering $100 off the purchase of a new Playstation 3 system. Between now and May 29th members can present a coupon (which they can print offline from their Power Up Rewards page) while in GameStop and receive the savings on a new 160 or 320 GB system.

A lot of people are thinking this is a sort of compensation for the recent PSN fiasco that’s been ailing Sony over the past few weeks. The PSN is still down, meaning players can’t play online, purchase games, or purchase add-on content. This may even be an attempt at reviving PS3 sales since GameStop has reported an increase in system trade-ins, specifically on the PS3.

Either way, this is a nice deal. This could potentially bring the price of a brand new PS3 system down to a sweet $200, which is nice for what the system offers. If you’re a Rewards member be sure to check your email to make sure you can get in on this nice little deal.
