It was a warm summer’s day back in 1997. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, and it was a perfect day. Many people went out with high hopes that their day would turn out even better, and with $5 they headed to their local game store.
They arrived with a smile, and greeted the store clerk. Slapping their $5 bill on the counter, they received a receipt in return with a confirmation that they had successfully pre-ordered Duke Nukem Forever. Since that time they have become all but hopeless, and the clouds have rolled in. That was a good time, and GameStop is here to bring those moments back.
GameStop has announced that they will be honoring all pre-orders for Duke Nukem Forever made at all EB Games and Babbage’s locations dating back to the year 1997. As long as the customer has that old receipt, the company will “honor even those pre-orders taken long ago.” All of these customers will receive Duke’s Big Package. Though this seems a bit farfetched, it is good to hear that GameStop is honoring the days of old.
