PlayStation Phone Comes To The US Next Week

Oh Sony. Your timing couldn’t be more terrible. It’s looking like the very first PlayStation Phone is going to be making it’s way to the US next week. This wasn’t really that exciting before, but seeing as the PlayStation Store isn’t even back up yet, any and all hype built up for this thing is going to be pretty well crushed ahead of time.

It’s going to be released in the US on May 26th, and will only be available through Verizon. (Another terrible idea.) You will have to fork out $199, and tack on an additional $30 per month seeing as it is a phone. The whole idea behind this thing is that you can play PlayStation games on it, which means you’ll have to buy certain games again for your phone. Yay to giving more money to Sony.

This does at least come with six titles pre-installed, but after all Sony did, not many people are going to care that much. For those of you out there that are genuinely interested in this thing, you will be getting the original PS1 version of Crash Bandicoot, Madden 11, The Sims 3, Battalion, Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior, ad Asphalt 6: Adrenaline. This is an Android phone, which could be exciting for a select few out there, but PlayStations’ timing really hit a sour patch on this one.
