For anyone who participated in the Gears of War 3 beta, there is a surprise waiting for you. Microsoft sent out a mass email thanking each of the players who downloaded and participated in the month long beta. Included in this email is a link to a .zip folder (which can be found here), which includes a desktop-size copy of the image posted above, as well as a .pdf of the actual target itself.
This means that players can take the .pdf, blow it up, and print out a one-of-a-kind poster for their wall. Can you say total awesomeness? If nothing else, it can help your accuracy for when you’re in those tight situations. It could mean the difference between life and death.
I think it’s great that Microsoft and Epic Games are doing things like this. For the Gears franchise the release of Gears of War 3 will mark a huge milestone in the company’s existence. The numbers from the beta were impressive, and Epic seems really happy with the turnout. Here’s a breakdown of the beta numbers:
Total Participants: 1.29 Million
Total Countries Playing the Beta: 145
Total Kills: 927 Million
Total Executions: 127 Million
Total Deaths by Chainsaw: 23 Million
Total Bullets Fired: 23 Billion
Total Match Time Played: 249 Years
