Call of Duty Elite Looking Into Creating Web Series
UK newspaper, The Guardian, has just reported that the new Call of Duty Elite service will offer “exclusive access” to a brand new Call of Duty web series. Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing CEO, told the newspaper, “We have engaged some top Hollywood talent to create linear video content that will be exclusive to Elite members.That content is inspired by Call of Duty.”
Elite has been set in the hopes of keeping up the Call of Duty hype in between title releases. With the addition of a new web series, I can definitely see Activision accomplishing this feat. This will also potentially keep players coming back to the Elite service, which is exactly what Activision wants.
No other details have been given on the matter, so the news is pretty slim at the moment. We don’t know if the series will be animated or live-action, but we all know what we want. As soon as more information arises, we will update.
