A Behind-The-Scenes Look At Bungie, Inside And Out

Bungie has come a long way since their early days, and they are appreciative of those who have come along for the ride. As they have sent off their brainchild, Halo, they’ve begun to embark on a new journey. This new quest will take them to many places we could only imagine. The company is making strides, but they don’t want anyone to forget where they started, and that’s why they made a documentary of sorts to show to all the fans.

The new documentary is entitled “O Brave New world,” and you can see it in its entirety below. Here’s what the company has to say about it:

Our story began like many others – two college-age boys locked themselves in a basement with a Macintosh computer and some cold pizza, and emerged from the darkness two weeks later with a game that would change the world forever…Gnop! Okay, so it took us a little while to hit our stride, but twenty years later our portfolio of published games makes us mighty proud. From Pathways to Myth, from Marathon and Oni to Halo, we’ve definitely come a long way. Chances are if you made it this far into our letter you came along for the ride too, sitting in your own dark basement with a slice of pizza, saving some far flung universe from certain doom, just like we knew you would.

In celebration of our adventure, we’ve collected a feast of infotainment sure to satisfy even the most ravenous fans – a behind the scenes look at the turning points, the moments that made us Bungie. It’s full of rare and never before seen footage, reflections from our best friends and biggest fans, and love for the community who made us who we are. So, plate up a little slice of our past. The last twenty years are worthy of a celebration. The next twenty, well…we can only hope and imagine that they will burn just as bright.

Bungie made some hard-hitting statements in the documentary, such as acknowledging that their biggest creation was sent away like a raft along the sea. The actual statement was, “The price of our freedom was… to leave our baby behind,” as spoken by Harold Ryan. This really hits home, letting us all know that the company will not be creating anymore Halo titles. Check out the documentary below, and tell us your thoughts on the path that Bungie has walked. One thing I have to say about the matter is, Bungie, we have faith in you. You’ve created a universe that has brought many people together, and now it’s time for you to do that same thing again, this time anew. We anxiously await your next endeavor.
