Minecraft Gets Snow Golems

We finally got to see the 1.9 update for Minecraft, which brought us a new creature and friend. Even though it doesn’t serve a great many purposes, the Snow Golem is a cute, derpy-looking addition to the family.

This craft-able creature can’t cause any damage to anything, but it will make the world into a winter wonderland if you let it. They are going to be extremely suicidal as Notch put it on his Twitter. And by that he means they will throw snowballs at mobs such as skeletons, spiders, and zombies. Although snowballs don’t do any damage, the distraction may just be enough to save you one day. Not to mention that it will be hilarious to watch from afar.

There’s no word just yet on when our frosty new friend will appear, but I am actually eager for a snowman pet. Anything is better than the Enderman right?
