Use These Old Republic Talent Calculators To Plan Out Your Future Character

Just how excited are you for Star Wars: The Old Republic? Being a former Galaxies player from before SOE ruined it (Pre-CU), I’ve been eagerly awaiting the game’s arrival since the first rumors were uttered. Thankfully, I’ve already been able to get my hands on it for a short while, but like everyone else, I can’t wait for it to actually launch.

So how do you pass the time? If you’re lucky, you’ve gotten an invite to the beta, which means you can roam around the galaxy, testing out different character classes and such. However, if you aren’t one of the lucky ones, you can still do a bit of planning for your future character. Thanks to leaks from the beta a couple of talent calculators have cropped up.

The two main calculators are from TORGUILD and BetaCake. I prefer the latter, mostly because it uses cake (and who doesn’t like cake?). They both function in a similar manner. Pick your class, and advanced class, then start allotting your talent points. Since your don’t start using them until level 10, you’ll have a total of 41 points to use when you’ve maxed out your character at level 50. Also, bear in mind that you’ll need to use 5 points in each tier before you can move up to the next one in the tree. Each tree will need 31 points to reach the top.
