Gears of War 3 DLC Will Arrive This November
Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb, also known as Major Nelson, has posted some exciting new information on his blog which has to do with the newly-released gears of War 3 title from Epic Games. It seems that a major piece of DLC will be rolling out for the shooter, and we’ll see it this November. Entitled the “Horde Command Pack,” this set of DLC has everything you’ll need to flush those grubs out of their holes for good.
In his description of the content, Hryb stated:
Taking you deeper into the fight with three explosive new maps, three new playable characters, two new weapon skins, and additional achievements worth 250 Gamerscore, the Horde Command Pack also includes new fortification upgrades to help you mow down the Lambent and Locust threats in the fan-favorite Horde mode.
To detail the pack out for you, here’s what you’ll get with the Horde Command DLC:
Three new maps:
- Blood Drive – After the government ordered Hammer Strikes throughout the nation, the Jacinto Medical Plaza was overwhelmed with evacuated citizens. Once a save and humble dwelling, it was turned into a blazing inferno as riots broke out across its capacity. The map offers many high vantage points along with choked sections, allowing for an abundance of ambushes while playing Horde.
- Azura – This fortress of an island resort once played home base to an exiled few of the most elite minds on Sera. Now the soft-flowing waters and lush gardens have been torn into battlegrounds under the sheer weight of war. Snipers can take roost above the combat below, and keep watch over a very powerful weapon, while the central platform offers a final line of defense.
- Rustlung – This shambling battleship, at one time, stood as the pride of the Royal Tyran Navy. It now sits in the sand completely combed with bullet holes and lost memories. Teams can take up hold in the central torpedo bay, and try their best to protect the lone Silverback mech suit which has replaced the ship’s Loader.
Four new fortification upgrades:
- Decoy Upgrade – A new level to this fortification will allows your decoy to transform into an Onyx Guard bot that will fight off enemies in your defense.
- Silverback Upgrade – This new advancement will allow players to upgrade their Silverbacks with more damaging rockets and more levels of repair at a cost reduction.
- Command Center – This is a brand new type of fortification that will allow you to call in support for sniper teams, multiple Hammers of Dawn, and even mortar strikes.
- Sentry Upgrade – This will add a fire bolt sentry that deals significantly more damage to enemies and is very effective versus Berserkers.

So, it’s fairly easy to say that the new Horde Command DLC pack will keep players busy for quite a while. With new upgrades, maps, and characters the pack will be much worth its listing price of 800 Microsoft Points. Get ready to pick up this downloadable content pack when it releases November 1st.
