Live-Action Skyrim Trailer Released

Village living in Medieval times was rough. Hot meals were rare, baths nearly legendary, and the idea of living without central heating in Northern Europe in the middle of winter is…unpleasant. You would think a friendly fire-breathing beast sauntering into your town would be a welcome respite from the utter frozen misery, but look at how rude these residents of Skyrim are. How upset would you be if every dirty rapscallion ran for cover each time you dropped into town? Then they send some guy in a funny hat out (“Oh, Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin, save us, Dovahkiin!”) as the welcoming committee.

Oh, wait. That’s a dragon: a very realistic, screeching, malice-dripping dragon. Dragons eat people, and if you watched the gameplay demo from E3, you also know dragons find giants to be a suitable snack.  Luckily we get to play the dragon welcoming committee and fight back with our own words of power.  My mind is still trying to wrap about the idea of pulling dragons down from the sky to crash land on the ground and engage in some fiery melee action. Like nearly everything Bethesda has released about this game, this is almost unbelievable. Almost.

You’d think the anticipation couldn’t grow anymore, but here appears Bethesda’s fantastic live action trailer to sustain our collective excitement for the release next month.  Yes, there be dragons.  Also, try not to burn down the village before the dragon gets there.
