Infinity Ward Hands Out Bans Lasting 5000 Days For Modern Warfare 3

When Infinity Ward warned that they would be issuing bans to cheating players, they weren’t playing games. They have now just rolled out their version of a “permaban” to those of the Modern Warfare 3 community who have taken it upon themselves to cheat the leaderboards.

This new ban suspends player gameplay for 5000 days. You can see in the image above from MP1ST that players will be unable to log on to the MW3 multiplayer servers, and a countdown is kept to remind them. Just to give you a little insight, 5000 days churns out to be around 14 years. If you have any plans to cheat, boost, or hack the game to get to the higher spots on the boards, keep this in mind.

While that’s not really a permanent ban, I’m sure it will help players think twice before they make bad decisions. The permaban was announced officially via Twitter, and Infinity Ward Creative Strategist Robert Bowling is heading the charge. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: just don’t cheat the game. It’s not worth it.
