Minecraft and LEGOs Come Together

Mojang, the developer behind the newly-released Minecraft title for the PC, have announced that they’re bringing the creative building blocks right into the real world. The developer is working with LEGO directly to release an official Minecraft LEGO set that will allow players to bring their in-game creations to life in reality. On top of this, the developer plans to donate 1% of the proceeds to charity.

Mojang said about the endeavor, “Minecraft is about placing blocks to create anything you can imagine in the virtual world. You can build anything you imagine with LEGO bricks in the physical world. Minecraft and LEGO were meant to be together.” This sounds like a match made in the heavens, doesn’t it?

Another great thing about this LEGO set is that it will let players easily map out their creations in front of them before they translate them into the virtual world. It’ll kind of be like modeling the blueprint before laying the actual foundation. No pricing or dates yet, but as soon as some more information comes about we’ll let you know.
