BioWare Is Looking To Bring The Old Republic To The Mac

With the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic going off as a success, BioWare is already set to head off in new directions. At least this is what development leads Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk are all about. They believe in dedication to their fans, and they’re pouring a lot of work into giving them want they want. Many gamers have already picked up the game and are hammering away at it on their PC, leaving Mac owners in the dark. The developer has acknowledged these neglected gamers, and are trying to bring them into the light.

In a recent interview, both Muzyka and Zeschuk noted that the Mac player base needs to see some attention. “We know that there’s a big Mac audience of BioWare fans… We know that’s an important and large audience. And we want to serve that audience,” they noted. They were screened and asked many questions, one of the biggest being when players could look forward to seeing the game hit the Mac.

“I’d say ‘not yet’. We’ve done a lot of Mac ports before our games. We haven’t announced any details yet for The Old Republic, but we know that’s an important and large audience,” said Zeschuk. So to recap, BioWare knows that the Mac audience isn’t a small one, and they want to be able to bring the game to these players. They don’t have any details on when this will happen, but they are looking into it. As soon as some news hits about this port, we will update here. At least we can keep our hopes up, and Mac gamers can be one with the Force hopefully sometime soon.
