BandFuse: Rock Legends Wants To Teach You To Play Guitar

It’s interesting to see how much the rhythm game genre has evolved over the last several years. Guitar Hero had millions of people strumming away on rather silly looking guitars for a long while. Now we’ve started to see games that make use of guitars that look like real ones (complete with frets to finger) and ones that will let you use your own six string.

What’s interesting is that I think we needed the early Guitar Hero and Rock Band games to pave the way for titles that teach you to play real instruments. The latest attempt to turn gamers into musicians is titled Bandfuse: Rock Legends, and stars the one and only Slash.

We don’t have a lot of information on this title, though we do know that you’ll be using your own guitar, much like RockSmith. The game will be a collaboration between Realta Entertainment Group and Rogue, with the intent to “change the way people think about music gaming and the guitar.” There’s a lot of competition out there, so those are some big words to live up to. The company has already announced a partnership with Fender for guitar likenesses, and bands like Coldplay and Five Finger Death Punch for music. We’ll be keeping an eye on this title as more news becomes available later in the year.
