Make Your Own Custom Mechanical Keyboard

There are thousands of keyboards on the market, and hundreds specifically targeting gamers. Even though there are so many to choose from, it can still be hard to find one that’s specifically tailored to you. Wouldn’t it be great if you could design your own custom keyboard? Then you don’t have to worry about showing up to a LAN and seeing the same one being used by the guy next to you.

WASD Keyboards specializes in custom mechanical keyboards. Each and every keycap can be modified to have the exact color, text, font, or symbol of your choosing. You can even upload custom artwork for the caps. You get your choice of laser etched, engraved, or both. If you hate having letters on your keys, you’re free to simply change the colors and leave them blank. Finally, you’re able to choose between Cherry MX Blue, Brown, Black or Red switches.

These custom keyboards start at $130 for blank caps, $140 for either etched or engraved, and $150 to have a combination of etching and engraving. Custom artwork is a bit more. You’re even able to order new sets of keycaps for $50-$70 per set. Coming in around the same price as other non-customizable mechanical keyboards, I’m interested to find out how these stack up to the competition. However, it sounds like a pretty good deal.
