If there was ever any doubt that Blizzard wasn’t going to do an official midnight release launch event for Diablo III, doubt no longer! Blizzard has announced that it will be hosting midnight launch events in 11 different countries all over the world, from Asia, to Europe, and of course from the GameStop in Irvine, California, where Blizzard is headquartered. Look to see different staff members all over the world, as Blizzard is sending members of their development team and other top staff members to autograph people’s copies of Diablo III for them.
The other 10 locations hosting launch events include Berlin, London, Moscow, Paris, Stockholm, Warsaw, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, and Seoul. Look to see lots of prizes given away, as well as talks by developers and other key staff. In fact, if you go the Irvine, California launch party you can even win a Diablo III themed laser-etched desktop PC from Intel! I’m not going to lie, if I lived closer to California I’d be trying my damnedest to win one of those PCs…

With that being said, though, when you consider the fact that Diablo III is perhaps one of the biggest, if not the biggest, launch of the year, it’s only a matter of time before GameStop makes it official and says that they’re doing a nationwide midnight launch party. Now, at this point, all we can do is play the waiting game, and maybe even start lining up outside our local game stores…
