It feels as though Pokemon has creeped into every aspect of our lives. Handheld games are its mainstay, but it’s in books, on the big screen, and even on the little screen in our living rooms. We can’t escape it, and we don’t really want to either.

The news of Pokemon Tretta is quite exciting then, as it is a new form of Pokemon insanity in an arcade machine. According to Siliconera, you will pay 100 yen to search for Pokemon, and then battle it out to try and capture new companions. It will be a 3 v 3 battle, and winning will gain you a new tretta with the Pokemon you just caught. The tretta are what you will scan, and are essentially your Pokemon that you will carry around with you.

This is going to let you play the game you know and love in a whole new way. There will be all sorts of new things to buy such as tretta carrying cases and a tretta report, so brace your wallets if you find that one is going to spring up nearby. This is the workings of Nintendo and Marvelous AQL, and it will be hitting Japan sometime in July.
