Here’s Your HD Version Of Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII has a huge following. So much of one that at E3 back in 2005, the intro to the game was remade for the PS3. Of course, that’s all we’ve seen from Square Enix on an actual HD remake of the game. While they’ve been happy to remaster several of the earlier games, the company doesn’t seem too interested in this one. Thankfully a better-looking version of the game does actually exist.
There are a number of mods for the PC version of the game floating around. Some of them good, others not so great. However, a program called Bootleg will allow you to see what the game will look like with a variety of the mods, and once you’ve found the look you want, it will let you know where to download them.
Sure, it’s still a poor substitute for an actual remake of the game, but it’s the best we’ve got. Personally, I’m still holding out for an official release. Though at this point, I wonder if it would be on the PS3 at all.
