PC enthusiasts have always been able to lord over the Mac enthusiasts the fact that the PC gets tons of games released for it while the Mac is often left without anything. Over time, though, we’ve seen that trend dissipate a little bit, such as when Steam released a Mac version of the popular content management system. And now, the PC will have one less game over the Mac, as it was announced by Aspyr that Call of Duty: Black Ops is being ported to the Mac.
This isn’t the first Call of Duty game that’s been ported to the Mac. The original Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare have been ported to the Mac as well in the past. And, assuming that this game sells decently enough on the Mac, my guess is that we’ll be seeing other Call of Duty games showing up on the Mac as well.
Aspyr, the company that’s porting Black Ops to the Mac, is an Austin, Texas based company that specializes in porting PC games to the Mac. Some of the other notable games they’ve ported include Civilization IV and V, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, and several of the Sims games.
