Dark Souls PC Requirements Revealed

It took a lot of hard work by fans to convince Namco Bandai to bring Dark Souls to the PC. So strong was the effort that they decided to not just port the game, but to develop additional content to be exclusive to the platform (at least for a short while). They dubbed this new version of the game “Prepare to Die.” A fitting title, I think.

One of the big questions in everyone’s mind is what hardware we’re going to need in order to play the game. As it turns out, the game isn’t going to be all that resource-hungry. Check out the minimum system requirements:

*Sound: Direct Sound-compatible Sound
*Special Controllers: Multi-player requires microphone headset support
*DirectX: DirectX® 9.0c
*Hard Drive Space: 4 GB Available Hard Drive Space
*Operating System: Windows® XP / Vista / 7
*Processor: 2.6 GHz Dual-Core Processor
*RAM: 1 GB Available System Memory XP; 2 GB Vista / 7
*Video Card: 512 MB Video Card (ATI Radeon 4850 or higher; NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or higher)

Seriously, Windows XP, 1GB of RAM and a GeForce 8800 GT shouldn’t be too hard to find. Most gaming computers in the last few years won’t have any problem running this game. Of course, that doesn’t mean you won’t have any issues staying alive.
