Supposed Half-Life 2: Episode 3 Art Leaks To The Net

It seems like being a fan of Valve and their games is a constant emotional roller coaster. We’ll receive an amazing game which will astonish and amaze us, and we’ll be left wanting more. Once a sequel comes out, we’ll be blown away again. But if we’re waiting for anything with a 3 in it, we’ll be sadly misled, griefed, teased, and trolled. We’ve seen Half-Life 3 shirts, fan hoaxes over Left 4 Dead 3, and much more in the Valve gaming world, but something has come upon us that could just be the one glimmer of hope we’ve been waiting on.

Now we’ve fallen victim to Half-Life trolling before, like I mentioned above. However, there has been some leaked concept art to hit the net that’s supposedly linked to Half-Life 2: Episode 3. The site Valve Time posted the picture above and 31 others like it, along with a statement assuring us that these images are, in fact, legit.

The images show, what’s been assumed, to be designs for Alyx Vance, Gordon Freeman in some arctic-attire, the Resistance chopper taking a dirt nap on a snow-capped hill, and much more. The images look really sharp, but we can’t tell their validity. The website posting the photos issued this as their statement of assurance:

“I just want to stress that we absolutely would not release these pictures if we didn’t know for a fact that they were real. They absolutely are. I mean, it’s not like we’re doing it to attract traffic to our site. We know our server can’t cope with the load so we don’t want massive influxes of traffic like this. You may have noticed we’ve been offline since!”

The statement is no joke, as their site is completely offline. The posted images have dates that send us back to 2008, so they could be from a game that’s since been scrapped. They could be postings of a fan who’s crazy about concept art and Half-Life. They could be the work of an expert forger. We don’t know. We’ll wait to hear from Valve to find out more. If you want to see all of the posted images, there’s a Facebook page that has them all posted.
