The Secret World Free Weekend Announced

It’s been a month since Funcom launched their latest MMO, The Secret World. With a modern-day setting, you’re put in the shoes of a hero who must fight demons and monsters to protect the world. While this may sound like fun, it’s understandable if you’re a bit reluctant. After all, Funcom’s last MMO wasn’t exactly a stellar hit.

Well next weekend, you’ll finally have a shot to play the game, without needing to shell out $50. Starting at 4pm GMT you’ll be able to play the game and play it to your heart’s content for the rest of the weekend. The free-to-play session ends on Monday, August 6th at 7am GMT.

There will be some special in-game events going on during the weekend. Fireworks will be given out (up to 15 per character), and those that complete 30 missions will get a special in-game shirt and 1200 bonus points. You can get registered and download the game now by hitting the link below, so that there’s nothing stopping you once Friday rolls around. If you already participated in the beta, or have an inactive account, you can use that to login, though you will need to download the updated client.
