Das Keyboard Launches New Keyboard With Media Controls

So, I won’t lie when I say that I’m a bit of a Das Keyboard fanboy. I’ve had the Professional model since last October, and between the mechanical switches (that allow for a faster, more comfortable typing experience), the 2 USB ports on the side, and overall quality of the keyboard I can say that it’s nearly perfect. In fact, in my mind the only way you can make it better is if you add media controls for when you’re in a game and you need to adjust your volume.

Well, luckily for me Das Keyboard has just announced just a keyboard for sale! The new Professional model will come with media controls, featuring the basic volume control, mute, stop, pause, next track, and previous track. Also new to this particular model is a built in sleep function, which is always handy if you want to put your computer to sleep but are a little too lazy to reach for the mouse.

The keyboard also comes in two different versions. You can get the standard Cherry MX Blue switches (for those of you who want to hear every single click) for 129$ or you can get the Cherry MX Brown switches (which lets you feel the click but are much quieter) for $135. And, like any other mechanical keyboard, if you use the PS/2 adapter that comes with the keyboard you’ll also gain what is called N-key rollover, meaning that you can press however many keys you want to at once and the keyboard will be able to understand every single keystroke. This makes it a good keyboard for us gamers who end up mashing several different keys all at once!
