Metal Gear Solid 4 Now Has Trophy Support!

Back in the year 2008, the overall achievement system that many of you are familiar with was just starting to come out on the PS3 as Trophies. And while most, if not all games since then contain Trophy support, there is one very popular game that didn’t come with any Trophies due to the fact that the game had been completely finished by the time the Trophies came out. Thus, Metal Gear Solid 4 has no Trophies.

Well, it didn’t have any Trophies, until today! Sony Entertainment announced today that in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear series that Metal Gear Solid 4 has had a patch released for it that will add Trophy support for your old copy of the game. All future retail versions of the game will also have Trophy support right out of the box, no patch needed!

The update adds 34 Trophies, with such gems like “You enjoy all the killing, that’s why” and “SUNLIGHT!”. With this little update, I almost wish I had a PS3 myself to play it for myself. I guess I’ll just have to play my copy of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on the PS Vita instead…
