Microsoft Hints At Possible Killer Instinct Revival?

Many of us who owned a Super Nintendo as a kid (or adult, if that was your thing in the 90s!) have had the fortune of playing Killer Instinct, a fighting game featuring the likes of Dinosaurs, Robots, Frozen Dudes, and Half Naked Women.  It was hard to miss with its trademark black case, a stark contrast to the silver SNES system.

This week, Microsoft made a strange move by announcing publicly the fact that it had renewed the trademark for the property, something that usually goes on unnoticed  in the shadows.  The only thing the announcement mentioned was this:

With all due respect to our friends in the media who like to frequent trademark sites, we thought we’d break this one ourselves. :)

Our legal eagles have authorized us to say: “We have either renewed or refiled a trademark application in various jurisdictions.”

That’s it! Have a good Monday!

Some might say there is an unusual amount of enthusiasm behind what should be a rather bland announcement.  Could a series revival be in our futures?  Only time will tell.
