Well folks, if you’ve been looking to get a PS Vita but you haven’t been wanting to spend exorbitant amount of money on it, I’ve got some good news. The PS Vita is finally getting a bit of a price cut! The only problem? That price cut is in Japan only, at this time.
Sony made the announcement yesterday on the heels of the announcement of a new Ice Silver color for the Vita. The price will be going down to 19,980 Yen, or $215 dollars, for both the 3G/Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi only models. That equates with about a 34% price drop and 20% price drop respectively. I have to wonder, however, if Sony is intending to phase out the Wi-Fi only model, seeing that both that model and the 3G model are now the same price?
At this point there is no word about if the price drop will be coming to America and Europe. Keep in mind, however, that Sony is having an event on Wednesday to most likely announce the next PlayStation. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them announce a price drop for the Vita at the same time.
