Rock Band Metallica DLC Pulled From Store

If you managed to snag an old Rock Band set and you feel like rocking out to some Metallica, you might be in for a bit of disappointment. That’s because the first bit of Metallica DLC for Rock Band is no longer available for purchase due to the fact that the license has expired. The DLC had the songs “Ride The Lightning”, “And Justice For All”, and “Blackened”.

According to Harmonix, since it’s been so long since the release of the first bit of DLC for Rock Band they’re starting to get to the end of some of the licenses. They’ve been hard at work since then trying to get those licenses extended in an effort to “make sure this has as small an impact on the community as possible.” They’re also going to post updates quarterly to make sure that players have ample warning just in case songs expire.

If you already own the DLC you shouldn’t have to worry about anything. Those who have bought the DLC already will not lose access to it. And even though it’s no longer available for purchase you’ll still be able to re-download it just in case you had deleted it from your hard drive.
