With a new generation of consoles comes new IPs, and Ubisoft isn’t one to be left behind. EA may have shown off their latest entry in the Need for Speed series, but Ubisoft is looking to make their mark with a brand new racing game, called The Crew. How will it stack up with NFS: Rivals?
In The Crew you can drive pretty much all over the country, with tons of different trials and missions available. Unlike NFS you’re not limited to the asphalt. Instead, you can customize your vehicle with tons of different parts to get the performance you need. Expect to go off-roading? Add some bumpers and a lift kit. Going in to a drag race? Then trick your car out with a low body kit and wide tires.
The Crew is meant to be a multiplayer experience, and features a persistent online world. You can play by yourself, but if you want to play with your friends you can invite them into your crew and do missions together. It’s a pretty cool concept really, and it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up with Rivals. The Crew will be available for the PS4 and the Xbox One in 2014.
