Kingdom Hearts Creator Wants To Take KH3 To A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Fewer games have produced as much hype with so little known about it as Kingdom Hearts 3. People have been clamoring for a real Kingdom Hearts sequel for years, not that 360/2 or Ultra Dance Mouse Revolution crap that Square-Enix has been releasing for the last several years. Well, the people are finally going to get their bona-fide sequel, and if the creator of the series Tetsuya Nomura has his way, this one is going to be bigger and better than ever.

With the fact that Disney now owns both Marvel and Star Wars, Nomura is now looking to get both of those properties in the game as well. Here’s what he had to say about it when he was at Japan Expo 2013:

Of course it would be great if we could add [the Marvel & Star Wars] licenses as well… there are lots of rules and restrictions by Disney so we can’t actually put in everything people want. So it’s a quite difficult decision but we’re gonna prepare some surprises for you so, just wait for the information.

I’m not going to lie, I’m not a huge Kingdom Hearts fan, but just the idea of combining Marvel and Square and Star Wars characters in one game is pretty exciting to me. Keep in mind, though, that Nomura is merely expressing his interest in adding those franchises. It’s possible that Disney may decide to not allow the use of Marvel and Star Wars in KH3, but at the same time, they’d be stupid not to let them use it. After all, there’s a ton of money to be made in making a Deadpool planet, or a Death Star for Sora and co. to explore.
