Latest The Last Of Us Patch Removes Phone Sex Line Number

When it comes to perverse pleasures many folks these days tend to get their fun through internet pornography. Occasionally, some folks who are really hard up for human interaction may even hire the services of a cam girl. Back before the internet, however, people couldn’t hire a cam girl, and instead had to call up a phone sex line, many of which are still in service to this day.

Normally whenever a phone number appears in a video game (or really, any form of media) it takes on the format of “555-xxxx”. In The Last of Us, Naughty Dog did use that format on a phone number that appeared on a bulletin board which showed a couple of 1-800 numbers. The problem, however, was that while normal phone numbers never use the prefix “555” there are 1-800 numbers that do work like “1-800-555-xxxx”. So what’s the problem? InThe Last of Us, the 1-800-555 number they used was the number for a phone sex line.

Oops.

In the latest patch for The Last of Us, Naughty Dog has taken the opportunity to change the phone number on that bulletin board. Other fixes in the game were all for the multiplayer, from improved host mitigation to general crash issues.
