I love Assassin’s Creed. Love it.  And I was very excited when Titan Books sent me a copy of their Assassin’s Creed III artbook, which, in my opinion, is a worthy investment by any fan of the series–unless they were less than thrilled by Assassin’s Creed III (which no one can blame them for).  So imagine my delight when I found a copy of the Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag artbook on my doorstep a year later.

This book, much like its predecessor, is filled to the brim with striking artwork in the classic Assassin’s Creed style.  I’ve always been a fan of their thick strokes and the hint of ambiguity in their illustrations, rather than hard lines (though those are present enough in their presentation of the Abstergo offices).  The book features sections on the characters, the Abstergo Offices, the cities and jungle areas, as well as naval battles and underwater exploration.  Black Flag is easily one of the most exotic of the series in terms of location, and the artbook does a fantastic job of differentiating the locations through the colors and lineart.  The “Underwater World” section is filled with particularly breathtaking images.

The book is on sale now for $34.95 and has 192 pages worth of pirate eye candy to rot your brain with.
