The newest venture in Sonic’s journey from Sega looks like it could be a masterpiece. The game will allow players to control Sonic via a side-scrolling classic style, or the more current from-behind camera style. You can control either version of Sonic in levels that were inspired by three original eras of Sonic games.
There’s no power-ups. There’s no playable team members. Sega is going back to the bone with this one, and we love it.
The first gameplay trailer for the new game is posted below, and I urge you to watch it in its entirety. Sonic Generations will release later this year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but since it is fully HD there will be no Wii release.
I am actually excited for a Sonic game. It takes me back.
